“‘Art of Humility’ is a key to learn and progress,” says Gaffer and Key Grip Abhishek Tata

en Bollywood News “‘Art of Humility’ is a key to learn and progress,” says Gaffer and Key Grip Abhishek Tata

Hailing from the maximum city of Mumbai in India, Abhishek Tata is a gaffer and key grip actively working in Hollywood.

“‘Art of Humility’ is a key to learn and progress,” says Gaffer and Key Grip Abhishek Tata

With over seven years of key experience in filmmaking, he shares his work experience working primarily as a Gaffer and Key Grip in the industry.

He initially worked in India with productions such as The Viral Fever (TVF) and The Screen Patti (TSP) and a feature film called, The White Flame. He is currently working abroad with big productions and is in continuous pursuit of making new unique and breathtaking visuals.

Being exposed to industry professionals and experts has given Abhishek a non-biased and clear outlook on the industry. He feels Hollywood to be a welcoming industry where the people are supportive and never made him feel like an outsider. He truly enjoys working with professional standards set by Hollywood and believes that the Indian film industry too is on the cusp of breaking boundaries and redefining the art of filmmaking. Abhishek firmly believes that hard-working Indian filmmakers are working very hard to break the bounds and go beyond norms.

As a gaffer and key grip, it is his job to try and replicate the natural world on screen. Abhishek mastered this by extensively observing experienced Gaffers and Key Grips. His biggest takeaway from the interactions he had with people who have immense experience and knowledge is the ‘art of humility’.

When immensely experienced people help him with his film journey without expecting anything in return, it gives him great confidence. He is proud to note that he is doing exactly what they told him to, trying to help as many people with their journey as he can. In his experience, social media and the age of the internet is a boon for new-generation filmmakers to learn and build connections.

“‘Art of Humility’ is a key to learn and progress,” says Gaffer and Key Grip Abhishek Tata

“I feel that soon we will see a completely new and transformed Indian cinema which will have completely broken the shackles of regions and will emerge as one Indian Cinema. I know it will happen and I cannot be more excited about anything else. It is indeed a physically demanding job, working 12-hour shifts and overtime often. But what makes it special for each one of us who is working in film is the fact that it gives us all a family. A family that stands by its members and helps each other and goes on to succeed together. I love Cinema and I feel honoured that I got an opportunity to be a small part of this big family,” said Abhishek Tata.
