Armaan Malik urges BMC to act as Mumbai’s Air Quality Index turns unhealthy

en Bollywood News Armaan Malik urges BMC to act as Mumbai’s Air Quality Index turns unhealthy

Bollywood singer Armaan Malik has raised serious concerns over Mumbai’s deteriorating air quality, urging the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to take immediate and effective action. With Mumbai’s Air Quality Index (AQI) worsening every day, the issue has become a pressing concern for residents across the city. On December 12, Mumbai’s AQI reportedly crossed 150, primarily due to dust and smog, pushing air quality into the unhealthy category.

Deeply worried about the situation, Armaan took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a series of posts highlighting the growing health crisis. He pointed out that people across age groups are falling sick and stressed that the issue goes beyond seasonal changes. In his first post, the singer wrote, “Mumbai’s air feels heavier every day. I’ve seen more people fall sick this month than ever before, and it’s not the weather… it’s the air. The smog. The dust. The reality we’re breathing. From kids to elders, everyone is coughing or struggling. How are we expected to live, work or feel safe like this? This deserves immediate attention from those in charge. We can’t air-purify our way out of a crisis. We need real solutions now.”

In a follow-up post, Armaan directly appealed to civic authorities, stating, “.@mybmc, this is a humble request – can you please look into this and figure out a strategic plan - coz this affects ALL OF US. Including the people (and families) working for your organisation.”

Expressing his deep emotional connection with the city, Armaan further added, “I love my city and my country deeply, and I want to continue living, working, and growing here because this place is home. All I’m hoping for is that the authorities can take necessary steps to help make our living conditions healthier and more sustainable for everyone.”

The singer’s posts have gone viral, with many netizens echoing his concerns and agreeing with his plea. Some users even urged him to highlight the severe air pollution crisis in Delhi, which currently records the worst AQI levels.

On the professional front, Armaan Malik was recently seen visiting the Bigg Boss 19 house during family week to support his brother Amaal Mallik. With the show now concluded, fans are eagerly awaiting a musical collaboration between the two brothers.
