The Great Indian Kapil Show that hosts several A-list celebrity guests will mark its return on Netflix later this week. While the team including host Kapil Sharma and ‘laughter specialist’ Archana Puran Singh are currently in the midst of promoting, the latter recently was seen in a candid conversation, discussing about the show along with her team, wherein she opened up about her salary for the show.
Archana Puran Singh confessed in an interview with Siddharth Kannan that her fees are lower compared to other actors who are a part of the show, despite her laughter becoming a key point of the show. However, the actress asserted that she is not discouraged by it but instead, she insisted that it is fair because the other actors have to work more. “I’m happy with what I earn because I only have to laugh. The rest of the crew, who work harder and handle makeup, get paid double for their efforts,” Singh said and she jokingly added, “Some get paid for their beauty, others for their talent, but I get paid for all of that.”
For the unversed, The Great Indian Kapil Show features Kapil Sharma as the host along with Krushna Abhishek, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, and Rajiv Thakur are regulars who often play different characters within the multiple sketches that are a part of each of these episodes. While the first season was a starry affair, the second season too boasts of a host of celebrities who will be a part of the chat show which includes the likes of Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, the entire Indian cricket team, including Rohit Sharma, and others. The show will premiere on September 21 with new episodes dropping every Saturday at 8 pm on Netflix.
