Actress Anusha Dandekar, who is currently riding high on the success of her latest Marathi film Juna Furniture, recently addressed allegations made by her ex-boyfriend, actor Jason Shah. Jason, who is known for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, had earlier claimed in an interview that Anusha didn't understand him and tried to confine him to her expectations. Anusha has now responded, expressing her disinterest in making headlines over past relationships or false news.
Days after Jason's comments, Anusha took to Instagram to set the record straight. She emphasized that she does not want to be in the news for her past relationships or for unverified claims. "At this point, if you Google my name, first it was me trying to fit someone in a box! Lies! And now this. Another lie!" she wrote. Anusha also clarified rumours about her participation in the upcoming season of Bigg Boss OTT. "I've not spoken to anyone, and they won't even call me for this show because they know my answer. I should be paid for the PR though," she added sarcastically.
Anusha expressed her frustration over being dragged into media controversies and urged people to focus on her professional achievements instead. "I like that everyone wants to use my name. I guess I should be flattered but how about you all start speaking some truths like how my film Juna Furniture is on its 6th week in cinemas, almost 7th now, and what a great film it is! There are some facts! Go watch it," she wrote.
In his interview with ETimes, Jason Shah had mentioned experiencing a significant spiritual change following his breakup with Anusha. "It was rushed. I didn't really think about it. The other person didn't really understand me, and I felt they were trying to make me fit in their box. And that is not going to happen, right?" he said. He also deflected questions about their breakup, suggesting that inquiries should be directed to Anusha.
On the professional front, Jason Shah is receiving accolades for his performance in Heeramandi, where he played Alastair Cartwright. Anusha, meanwhile, continues to bask in the success of Juna Furniture, a film that features her alongside Mahesh Manjrekar and Bhushan Pradhan. The film, which premiered on April 26, has been well-received and is now entering its seventh week in theatres.
