On Wednesday, veteran actor Anupam Kher took to social media to acknowledge filmmaker Rohit Shetty's reference to him during his appearance on Koffee With Karan season 8. During the show, while reflecting on the box office performance of his film Cirkus, Shetty shared a piece of advice Kher had given him: "After a point in your life when you've worked so much, it's the event that fails, it's not you."

Kher, moved by Shetty's public mention, posted a video clip of the specific Koffee With Karan segment on his social media handle. In the caption, he expressed his gratitude to Shetty, writing, "Thank you, dearest @itsrohitshetty for remembering what I said to you during one of our casual chats and quoting it on a show with @karanjohar. It will help others in their tough times. Yes! It’s true. “Failure is an EVENT not a Person.””

Reacting to the video, The Singham director commented, “Love you sir.” Replying to his words, Kher wrote, “Love you always. Stay grounded and humble as you are always.”

For the unversed, while speaking of the failure of Cirkus, Rohit had said, “When Cirkus didn't do well, Anupam Kher came to my office. He's a friend and we've worked on one film and one very good thing he said, 'After a point in your life when you've worked so much, it's the event that fails, it's not you.'”

Released in December 2022, the period comedy film stars Ranveer Singh in a double role. Besides him, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johny Lever, and Sanjay Mishra, among others, play pivotal roles.

Speaking of the professional front, Shetty is gearing up for his OTT debut, Indian Police Force. The Amazon Prime Video show will star Shilpa Shetty, Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi. It will start streaming on the OTT platform from January 19 onwards.
