Anil Kapoor, who continues to win hearts as fans are excited to catch him in yet another suave avatar in Fighter, took to social media to talk about an emotional moment. The actor, who has always opened up about his past and his late father Surinder Kapoor, showered love on the latter on his birth anniversary. Surinder Kapoor, who would have turned 99 today, was fondly remembered by all his sons including Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor as they penned special tribute to him on December 23.

Taking to Instagram, Anil Kapoor posted several throwback photos of his father Surinder Kapoor, who was also a Bollywood producer, from his younger days and also penned an emotional note on the occasion. He wrote, “Celebrating my dad’s birthday today—simple, honest, and a joyous man. He stood tall, exuding handsomeness, and his resonant voice could be heard from miles away. I miss him dearly, yet his voice echoes within me, bringing warmth to every day of my life.” He concluded the note with heart and hug emojis.

Sanjay Kapoor dropped a heart emoji on Anil’s post and later also took to his own Instagram story where he remembered his father by sharing a photo and wrote, “Happy Birthday Dad <3”.

Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor also posted on the said platform adding, “Happy birthday Papa, 1 short of a Century”.

For the unversed, Surinder Kapoor is a relative of Prithviraj Kapoor, father of legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor. He kicked off his career in the late 50s as a producer with Farishta (1958) and tasted success with films like the Rajesh Khanna starrer Shehzada. He went on to produce films like Woh Saat Din, Judaai, Pukar, among others. He passed away due to a cardiac arrest on September 24, 2011.
