Dairy brand Amul has marked actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar’s major Hollywood breakthrough with its signature celebratory topical. The tribute comes as Akhtar prepares to make his international film debut portraying sitar legend Ravi Shankar in director Sam Mendes’ ambitious project, The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.
Known for commemorating cultural milestones with witty illustrated creatives, Amul’s latest topical acknowledges Akhtar’s casting in what is being described as one of the most expansive music biopic ventures mounted in recent years.
A Four-Part Cinematic Event
The upcoming film series is structured as four interconnected biopics, each told from the perspective of a different member of the legendary British band The Beatles. The project is slated for a global theatrical release in April 2028.

The ensemble cast features Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn portraying George Harrison.

Akhtar will step into the role of Pandit Ravi Shankar, whose deep artistic association with George Harrison significantly influenced The Beatles’ musical evolution in the late 1960s. Shankar’s mentorship introduced Harrison — and through him, the Western pop world — to Indian classical music.
The sitar’s presence in several Beatles tracks marked a defining cultural crossover moment, reshaping the band’s sound and broadening global appreciation for Indian musical traditions.
While Akhtar had a brief appearance as Waleed in the Marvel series Ms. Marvel in 2022, this marks his first substantial international screen role in a major global production.
