Amitabh Bachchan hails India’s economic rise: “Agniveer Zindabad” : Bollywood News

Actor Amitabh Bachchan showcased his patriotic spirit once again in a new post, celebrating India’s rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy. Early Monday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to also pay tribute to the Agniveers.

On X, Amitabh Bachchan posted a collage featuring the Agniveers and captioned it with, "Agniveer Zindabad. Bharat Mata Ki Jai!! Jai Hind." In a separate tweet, he shared, “T 5390(ii) - Jai Hind! India is now the 4th largest economy in the world… USA, China, Germany, India… and in 2.5 to 3 years, we’ll become the 3rd largest.” He also listed the current GDP figures: United States at $30.51 trillion, China at $19.23 trillion, Germany at $4.74 trillion, and India at approximately $4 trillion.

On his blog, Amitabh Bachchan expanded on his earlier post, writing, “... and as I said on X, we’ve become the 4th largest economy in the world, surpassing Japan... (man dancing emoji)... and in another 2.5 to 3 years, we’ll rise to become the 3rd largest economy in the world!”

"What an incredible achievement for a country that became Independent just 75 yrs + ago ..How many other nations that got Independent 75 yrs back, have attained this kind of achievement," he added. NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam said on Saturday that India has overtaken Japan to become the fourth-largest economy in the world. He added that India’s economy is now worth $4 trillion and only the United States, China, and Germany have larger economies.

He also praised the Agniveers in his blog, calling them “young fighters who protected us during the recent attack on our land.” Bachchan described them as energetic and disciplined youth enlisted under the Agnipath scheme. “These young warriors represent courage and commitment, serving with patriotism and valor. They undergo four years of training and service, gaining essential military experience,” he noted, applauding their bravery and contribution to modernizing India’s defense forces.

Reflecting on the economic milestone, Bachchan added, “What an incredible achievement for a country that gained independence just over 75 years ago. How many other nations that became independent then have achieved something like this?”
