After it failed at the box office in 2016, eight years later, Sanam Teri Kasam got a second chance to release in theatres, ahead of Valentine’s Day. The romantic drama that marked the Hindi debut of actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, however, surprisingly exceeded expectations by registering moolah at the box office. While trade experts have predicted several reasons for this sudden change in audience response, the film has been receiving love from industry insiders too. The recent one to do so is legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.

The veteran superstar took to social media to share his best wishes to the team of the film by dropping a poster of Sanam Teri Kasam and saying, “T 5288(ii) - All good wishes for this re release”, on Saturday.

The romantic drama further gained momentum this Valentine’s Day at the box office with many taking to social media to appreciate the film and its performances. Sharing a glimpse of the same on Instagram, the post read, “Inder stole hearts on screen, and now in real life too!”

Adapted as the modern rendition of the legends of Shiva-Sati and the novel ‘Love Story’ by Eric Segal, Sanam Teri Kasam tells the story of a tough ex-convict Inder and a traditional librarian Saru. While Inder and Saru fall in love under unique circumstances, a tragedy changes their lives forever. Also starring Manish Chaudhari, Pyumori Mehta Ghosh, Murli Sharma, Sudesh Berry, Shraddha Das, among others, the film, directed by Vinay Sapru - Radhika Rao, originally released in theatres on February 6, 2025.
