Sanya Malhotra is presently revelling in the tremendous triumph of Jawan. The movie, helmed by director Atlee Kumar, features a star-studded cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Deepika Padukone (in a special appearance). Amidst the film's splendid reception both critically and at the box office, Sanya has shared an intriguing anecdote involving SRK.

In a candid conversation with The Indian Express, Sanya reminisced about a time when her roommate worked for a magazine and informed her about Shah Rukh Khan's appearance at an event in a Mumbai hotel. Sanya recalled the impromptu adventure, saying, “So all of us got ready, hopped into an auto, and went to see him! We were essentially gatecrashers and sat in the audience. My friend asked him a question, and he responded with, 'Good question!' We were over the moon! When he left the room, we all exchanged glances and said, 'He smells so good!' By the way, he still does. When they found out I was a part of Jawan, they were ecstatic – that's when we created another WhatsApp group!”

During the same interview, Sanya drew parallels between the release of Jawan and her debut film Dangal. She shared, “When Dangal came out, I was so new, it was really overwhelming. My mind was not able to process it but now I am going to complete seven years and now I am able to fully process, be able to enjoy this feeling of being a part of a film as massive as Jawan.”

Talking about the film, Jawan also stars Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Mukesh Chhabra, Girija Oak Godbole, Aaliyah Qureishi, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Lehar Khan. Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film was released on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
