Recently there were rumours were making the rounds that all was not well between Abhishek Bachchan and his close friend Goldie Behl. Tongues started wagging when it came to news that after working with Abhishek in two films, Goldie had started looking for an alternative. However, the filmmaker vehemently denies that there is trouble with Bachchan Jr.
“Abhishek had agreed to work with Goldie at the very beginning of his career when he was fresh out of JP Dutta’s Refugee. He had the world open in front of him to pick and choose projects. Still, he wanted to work with his friend Goldie who was looking at making his debut. Though their first outing Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai didn’t do well, they stuck by each other and worked on Drona“, comments an industry veteran.
Post Drona, Goldie too started diversifying his production house and instead of focusing on just those films which were to be directed by him, he worked on giving breaks to other youngsters as well. Films like London Paris New York and I, Me Aur Main were a result of that. Now since Abhishek doesn’t feature in any immediate projects of Goldie, it led to tongues wagging about all not being well between the two friends.
However, Goldie feels that too much is being looked into this matter.
“When you start expanding your business, you are bound to meet different people all the time. That doesn’t mean that old relationships have been done away with”, says Goldie with a straight face, “Abhishek was, is and would always be my family. He is like my younger brother. My production house is very much like his own; it’s always available for him. Whenever he wishes to walk in, we would be there to welcome him with open arms.”
Guess that should set all speculations and rumours to rest.
