Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of her upcoming thriller Jigra, which marks her first on-screen collaboration with Vedang Raina. In a recent conversation with Jr NTR and filmmaker Karan Johar, Alia shared her thoughts on working with Vedang, who plays her brother in the film. Praising his dedication and talent, Alia revealed that Vedang reminded her of her Gully Boy co-star, Ranveer Singh.

“Vedang is fabulous. He is amazing. I don't think he knows how amazing he is,” Alia said. The actress went on to describe an emotional scene they filmed together, where Vedang's ability to cry on screen left a lasting impression. “I told him when we did a very important scene, where he was crying, that one good thing is that you cry prettily, and it's a good thing for a Hindi film hero. He is so hardworking and instinctive but also has some sort of prep. He reminded me a lot of Ranveer Singh, and I told him this as well.”

“A Huge Compliment,” Says Alia

Further elaborating on Vedang’s work ethic, Alia spoke about the dedication and focus he brings to each moment. “Just the way he is and his dedication. I think it is a huge compliment,” she said, adding that despite the comparisons to Ranveer, Vedang has his own unique qualities. Alia praised his musical talent and described him as an "old soul" with a deep-rooted sense of maturity, even though he is younger than her. "His soul is very deep-rooted and centred. He has a lot of depth in him, which I think will take him really far," she said.

Speaking of the film, directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra is a story of a sister’s love and her fierce determination to protect her brother. The film also stars Manoj Pahwa and is co-produced by Alia Bhatt's Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
