Actor Alia Bhatt lit up the Red Sea Film Festival recently and opened up about motherhood, sharing a warm update about her daughter, Raha. Alia revealed that Raha had begun asking questions about her schedule and had even developed her own friendly relationship with the paparazzi.
Alia Bhatt speaks about Raha’s growing curiosity
Alia attended the festival on Wednesday, where the event hosted a special retrospective celebrating her film journey. Reflecting on how much had changed since her previous visit. She said, “The last time I was here, Raha was one and now she is three. ‘Where are you, how far away, what are you bringing me when you come back?’” Alia shared that Raha had started asking her these questions and was now old enough to understand when her mother was away for work.
She added that Raha had formed her own sweet bond with photographers, noting, “Now, Raha has her own relationship with the paparazzi, and is old enough to ask me where I am going, and when I will be back.”
During the conversation, Alia also sang Raha’s favourite lullaby and mentioned that her daughter now makes specific song requests. While speaking about choosing her projects, Alia explained, “My priorities are my daughter and my family, so I have to focus on what really matters.”

Alia also discussed her upcoming spy film Alpha, the first female-led project in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars Alia alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol and is directed by Shiv Rawail. Speaking about the significance of the film, she said, “Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that’s a risk, because you’ve not historically seen that perform in the same way the male-led films have performed.”
At the festival, Alia was honoured with the Golden Globe Horizon Award in recognition of her contribution to cinema.
A look at Alia’s personal life
Alia dated Ranbir Kapoor for several years before the couple married in April 2022. Their relationship, which began during the filming of Brahmastra, has been followed by fans with great affection. The pair welcomed their first child, Raha, in November 2022. Ranbir and Alia later delighted fans by making their first public appearance with Raha on Christmas 2023.
