Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has been making waves globally, not just for her acclaimed Hindi films but also for her debut in the American entertainment industry with the OTT film Heart of Stone. Starring alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, Bhatt's performance in the action thriller garnered significant attention last year. Additionally, her appearance at the Met Gala 2024 further solidified her status as a global icon. In a recent interview with the Economic Times, Alia reflected on what has helped her transition from Bollywood to an international personality.

Alia believes that international appeal transcends language and boundaries. She explained, “The answer to that for me is emotion, which transcends wide and far.” She emphasized that the core of any compelling film lies in its ability to convey emotions that resonate universally. Alia shared that she enjoys watching content in various languages, such as Korean, Malayalam, and German, focusing on the story and the emotions conveyed rather than the language itself.

Known for her diverse roles in films like Highway, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Udta Punjab, and Darlings, Alia discussed her dedication to challenging herself with different characters. She said, “My intention is always to go for different characters, and hopefully, that has come across to the audience. I wouldn’t want to be pigeonholed into a specific type of film. I challenge myself to see if I can do different kinds of films.” This commitment to versatility has been a hallmark of her career, allowing her to explore a wide range of emotional depths in her performances.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt is set to star in and produce the upcoming film Jigra. In a previous interview with Film Companion, she described her venture into production as “exciting and overwhelming.” Alia is also slated to appear in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara alongside Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, although recent reports suggest the project may be on hold. Additionally, she will headline a movie in YRF’s Spy Universe and reunite with her husband Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which also features Vicky Kaushal in a key role.
