Taking the big leap from television to the big screen, Shantanu Maheshwari is said to play a pivotal role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Dropping an even bigger hint of his association with one of the most anticipated releases of 2022, Shantanu posted a recent Instagram video of him dancing to the film's new song 'Dholida' with the choreographer of the song Kruti Mahesh.
Cheering him on were none other than Alia Bhatt herself, who shared Shantanu's video on her Instagram stories with a big 'wohoo'! Huma Qureshi, who is said to be part of the film as a guest appearance and judged India's Best Dramebaaz season 3 which saw Shantanu as a host that year, left a 'fabbb' comment on the video!

Gangubai Kathiawadi has also been selected to be screened at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival in February and will have its world premiere at the festival, to be screened as part of Berlinale Special, a segment of the film festival which is dedicated to showcasing exemplary cinema.
Viacom18 Studios & Paramount Pictures International will be distributing Gangubai Kathiawadi in all International markets outside of India. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), the film is all set to release theatrically on 25th February 2022.
