Actor Ali Fazal is set to explore a romantic role once again in the upcoming anthology film Lust Stories 3, where he will star opposite Radhika Madan. The project will be directed by filmmaker Shakun Batra and is part of the widely known Netflix anthology franchise that examines modern relationships and intimacy through multiple stories.
Fazal, known for portraying intense and layered characters in recent years, will be seen taking on a softer, relationship-driven role in the film. His character reportedly explores themes of love, desire and emotional vulnerability in a contemporary setting. Speaking about joining the project, Fazal said, “Lust Stories 3 came to me at a time when I was craving something emotionally honest and personal. Shakun has such a rare way of observing human behaviour, he doesn’t direct scenes, he lets them breathe.” He added that the experience of working with Batra allowed him to approach the role in a more natural and grounded way.
The actor further shared that returning to a romantic character after a while felt refreshing. “Working with him was incredibly fulfilling because he pushes you to be truthful rather than dramatic. This story explores love, desire and vulnerability in a very real way, and I genuinely enjoyed slipping back into a romantic space after a long time,” Fazal said.
Fazal has previously gained recognition for his performances across both Indian and international projects. Apart from his work in Hindi cinema, he has appeared in global productions including the Hollywood film Victoria & Abdul alongside Judi Dench and the mystery adaptation Death on the Nile. He is also widely known for his role in the popular streaming series Mirzapur, where he plays the character Guddu Pandit.The upcoming installment of Lust Stories continues the anthology format introduced in the earlier films Lust Stories (2018) and Lust Stories 2 (2023). The franchise focuses on stories centered around relationships, intimacy and personal choices in modern India.
With Lust Stories 3, Fazal’s role is expected to bring a different dimension to the actor’s screen persona while continuing the anthology’s exploration of contemporary romance.
