Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Rajesh Sharma, director Priyadarshan and producer Ekta Kapoor attended the launch of their film Bhooth Bangla. The event was a rocking one, thanks to the antics of Akshay Kumar. From the time he came on stage, he created a frenzy not just with his jokes but also with his clothes. He was wearing torn clothes and he immediately explained the reason behind it.
Akshay Kumar said, “Yeh haal mera bhooton ne kiya hai. Jab aadmi film produce karta hai, toh aisa hi haal ho jaata hai!”
He then introduced each member of the cast in his own style, which further added to the fun. Ekta wasn’t available at first and Akshay raised laughs over this as well with his expressions. 10 minutes later, Ekta Kapoor made an entry and was greeted with claps.
Tabu remarked, “Ekta has a record. She doesn’t attend the trailer launch of her own films. I wonder how she’s here today.”
Ekta replied, “I usually come for the trailer launch when the film is small. When a film has big stars, toh meri zaroorat nahin padti! When all you guys are there, who’ll look at me (laughs)?” To which Akshay quipped, “Stars toh aate hai lekin chand aakhir mein aata hai! Aur last mein kaun aaya?”
Priyadarshan was asked what different does Bhooth Bangla offer from the rest of the horror comedy flicks of recent times? The veteran director replied, “We started the horror comedy genre with Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). Then a lot of people have done films in this genre and those films also did well, like Stree (2018). The only difference is that our film is not just a horror comedy. Its horror comedy cum fantasy.”
Bhooth Bangla releases in cinemas on April 17 and will have paid previews from 9:00 pm on April 16.
