Akshay celebrated his birthday by visiting the famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He was accompanied by his family and cricketer Shikhar Dhawan.

Akshay will next be seen in Tinu Suresh Desai's film, Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue. The film will be produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Ajay Kapoor.

The film is based on the Raniganj Coalfields collapse of 1989 in West Bengal, and the relentless efforts of the rescue team led by Jaswant Singh Gill. The film is slated to release in theatres on October 6, 2023.
