Akshay Kumar shared a tribute on X and wrote, “Those who sacrifice themselves for the country become immortal. We pay homage to the martyrdom of our brave soldiers who were martyred in the Pulwama attack. We will always remember them and stand with their families. Jai Hind (sic).”

On February 14, 2019, the Pulwama terror attack resulted in the deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and left many others injured. The attack was carried out by the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, which has been designated as a terrorist group by India, the United Nations, and several other countries.

The Pulwama attack shook the nation, and February 14 is observed as 'Black Day' in remembrance of the martyrs. It serves as a tribute to the fallen heroes and a reminder of the ongoing fight against terrorism.

The Pulwama terror attack took place on February 14, 2019, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. A convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), consisting of over 2,500 personnel traveling in around 78 vehicles, was moving along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway when a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into one of the buses. The explosion killed 40 CRPF personnel and injured many others.
