Ajay Devgn speaks on doing three different genres back-to-back with Drishyam, Bholaa and Maidaan; says, “That keeps me going on” : Bollywood News

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has once again broken the internet with the second teaser of his forthcoming film Bholaa. The actor is not only headlining the project but also donned the hat of a director. During the teaser launch event, he spoke about various aspects of the film while also shedding some light on his acting career graph starting from Drishyam to Bholaa.

For the unversed, the actor-turned-director was asked to comment on his graph as an actor, given that he closed the year 2022 with Drishyam 2 and will be opening 2023 with Bholaa. As Devgn replied to the question, he said, “I always try to do different genres, rotating one after another. So I don’t feel repetitive. So I have done Drishyam, then I am doing Bholaa, and after Bholaa is Maidaan. They are all three different genres. That keeps me going.”

As Bholaa is Ajay’s fourth directorial venture, the actor was also asked to talk about his inspiration. Elaborating on the same, Ajay asserted, “I think the idol is not just one director. I have worked with all kinds of directors in the past.” Then he remembered a couple of directors such as Mahesh Bhatt, Rituparno Ghosh, and Mani Ratnam, among others, and said, “With them, I learned commercial cinema as well as art cinema. And, there are a few directors from whom you learn what not to do. So each filmmaker comes with their positive points. Thus, the list is so long, I can’t pick up one or two names.”

Talking about Bholaa, it is an official remake of a Tamil-language film, Kaithi. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagraj, it was released in 2019. Speaking of the Hindi remake, it will feature Tabu, Vineet Kumar, Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobriyal besides Ajay. The film is slated to release on March 30.
