Sanya Malhotra is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Kathal in which she will be seen in the role of a police officer for the very first time. Ahead of the film's release, the actress brought a four bedroom in Gurgaon, Delhi for herself and her family where she plans to spend time whenever she gets a chance away from her tight schedule.

The actress also shared a moment from the auspicious beginning on her social media. Sanya Malhotra celebrated this in a traditional manner by organizing a pooja ceremony along with her family and close ones. Fans have showered her with congratulatory messages, lauded her for her dedication and living her dreams. The actress also dedicated an Instagram post wearing the same outfit she had worn for the Griha Pravesh.

Kathal is written by Ashok Mishra and directed by Yashowardhan Mishra. It releases on May 19, 2023 on Netflix. The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga and Achin Jain under the banners Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment. After Pagglait, Kathal marks Sanya's second collaboration with Guneet Monga. The actress also has Sam Bahadur in the pipeline. The film will feature in the role of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw’s wife along with Vicky Kaushal as the lead and Fatima Sana Shaikh, essaying the role of Indira Gandhi. The actress also has Mrs. in the pipeline, which is a remake of the Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen.
