Actor Adarsh Gourav has penned a heartfelt note following the release of his latest film Tu Yaa Main, which hit theatres on February 13, 2026. Also starring Shanaya Kapoor, the film is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and backed by producer Aanand L Rai.
Taking to social media on February 17, Gourav reflected on signing the project at a time of personal and professional uncertainty. “Tu yaa main came at a time to me where I was feeling confused and helpless reading everything that was being developed. But when I walked out of @abzeebandekar insane narration at the colour yellow office, I knew I had to be Maruti,” he wrote, referring to his character in the film.
Explaining his connection to Maruti, Gourav added, “What was it about him that felt so personal to me? Maybe his desire to breakout and find an identity. Something infectious about a character who knows where he’s coming from and does not shy away from it.” He described the role as an opportunity to explore qualities he admired but found difficult to embody in real life. “Maruti gave me a chance to be what I always envied. I wanted to be his friend the moment I read about him,” he shared.
The actor also expressed admiration for director Bejoy Nambiar’s storytelling style. “Been a big Bejoy fan since day 1. The films he makes and the high stakes situation that his characters often find themselves in — is something I devour. Thank you @bejoynambiar for making me part of such a cool film and believing in me as Maruti.”
He thanked producer Aanand L Rai for his consistent support and praised co-star Shanaya Kapoor’s commitment to her role. “@shanayakapoor02 surprised all of us on set. I saw her surrendering to the situation and the character. She was so real and vulnerable,” he wrote, adding appreciation for the crew and fellow cast members.

Acknowledging that the film has opened to a slow start, Gourav urged audiences to support projects that attempt something different. “It’s important that people show up in bigger no.s and watch smaller commercial films like ours too… It encourages producers to back films that are trying to do anything unique,” he stated, while adding a playful note about the film’s central threat: “watch us all get destroyed by an 18 foot Crocodile.”
Tu Yaa Main continues its theatrical run.
