Abhishek Kapoor reveals he wrote the script of Azaad in 2016 2016 : Bollywood News

Abhishek Kapoor, known for compelling narratives, recently treated the audiences with the periodic drama, Azaad, which was also a launch pad for the star kids – Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani. While the filmmaker maintained consistently that the film is close to his heart, the filmmaker during his recent interaction with his social media fam, made an intriguing revelation about the script of the movie.

Abhishek Kapoor reveals he wrote the script of Azaad in 2016

Kapoor recently conducted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on his social media and delved into the film's details. Right from conceptualising the film to getting the script ready, Abhishek revealed it all. During the same, when a fan asked about his inspiration behind the film, Abhishek said, "Azaad, as an idea, has been with me since my childhood, but we wrote the script in 2016, and I finally got the chance to make it now and release it in 2025. It's been a long time to live with the story, but it's very satisfying to have it come to life eventually," shared the director.

Speaking of Azaad, set in 1920s India, the film revolves around a young stable boy who forms an extraordinary bond with a spirited horse named Azaad. Their intertwined journey unfolds as a tale of rebellion and resilience, where his quest to ride the majestic horse transforms into a path of self-discovery and courage. Starring Rasha Thadani as Janaki, the film also marked the film debut of popular television actor Mohit Malik. Co-starring Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty in lead roles, the film released in cinemas on January 17.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Kapoor has crafted an illustrious filmography throughout the years.
