Bollywood Hungama, in this special report, brings to you the twelve trendsetters of the year who rocked the shows with their achievements.

1. Akshaye Khanna
The actor began the year with a bang with the evil role of Aurangzeb in Chhaava. He returned to the big screen towards the end of the year with Dhurandhar, and it became the most appreciated performance of his career. His dance moves also became a rage and the craze for it refuses to die down.
2. Aamir Khan
At a time when actors are opting for fewer interviews, Aamir Khan decided to go all out and talk to numerous journalists. Every interview stood out, as it was peppered with headline-worthy quotes and fascinating anecdotes from his illustrious career. On his 60th birthday, he surprised the media by introducing his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt. After the release of his successful film, Sitaare Zameen Par, he once again made an unexpected move – he declined lucrative offers from OTT platforms and released it on YouTube under the pay-per-view model.
3. Ranveer Singh
The actor was written off and many doubted his pull at the box office. He did not speak up or defend himself. He chose to let his work do the talking. The result? He has now gone to another level after the release of Dhurandhar. His star value will vastly improve after the release of Dhurandhar 2 as Akshaye Khanna stole some thunder from him in the first part. With Akshaye’s character dying in the end of part 1, Ranveer is expected to shine brightly in the sequel.
4. Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone reportedly walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit after her request for an eight-hour workday wasn’t agreed to. The news went viral and sparked a larger industry debate. Many actors, especially women, publicly supported her stand, asking why fixed working hours can’t be the norm on film sets.

5. Aditya Dhar-Jyoti Deshpande
The director and the Jio Studios head honcho took a great risk with Dhurandhar, which was not a conventional film in any sense. That’s not all. They decided to split the film into two parts, did not recklessly cut part 1 and allowed it to be more than 3 ½ hours long. They also accepted an ‘A’ certificate and even showed ultra-violent scenes in the trailer. Yet, the audiences arrived in hordes into cinemas. The makers have already recovered their investment and made handsome profits from the first part itself.
6. Laxman Utekar-Dinesh Vijan
Similarly, the humble filmmaker and the blockbuster producer went against the tide and cast Vicky Kaushal for Chhaava. The actor was an unusual choice as he had never stepped into such a role before and moreover, he had never shouldered such a big-budget film ever. The climax of this film is quite disturbing and there was a chance the audience might have stayed away. But their conviction paid off and Chhaava emerged as a Rs. 500 crores plus grosser.
7. Mohit Suri-Yash Raj Films
The skillful director teamed up with the esteemed production house for the first time for Saiyaara which many felt might not work at a time when viewers want to see testosterone-driven mass films. They launched two newcomers and then kept them away from the media and limelight. No interviews or events were held before or after the release, and this was going against the norm. Yet, the strategy worked. The film opened with a bang and went on to become a sleeper blockbuster.

8. Harshvardhan Rane
The dashing and talented actor finally got his due in 2025. He shocked the industry as Sanam Teri Kasam became a huge super hit on its re-release. It gave a boost to his Diwali release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. With this film, he went all out only after the release. No event was held in Mumbai and he travelled to the hinterland and interacted with the real target audience of the film. The videos of him being mobbed by excited fans became a talking point.
9. Himesh Reshammiya
The talented musician and actor was earlier trolled for his on-screen appearance. He didn’t take it to heart and kept working hard. Earlier this year, he released Badass Ravi Kumar, a spoof action comedy. The ones who made fun of him were the first ones to line up to buy the tickets to the film. Motivated by its performance, he held concerts and they also got a roaring response.
10. Tuesday offer
The Cinema Day offer lost its sheen and this is when multiplexes came up with a revolutionary idea – every Tuesday, the tickets will be available for lower prices, starring as low as Rs. 99 and going up to just Rs. 149 or Rs. 199. The scheme worked. The trend now is that the film falls more than before on Monday, only to see a rise on Tuesday. Viewers have been acquainted with this offer and plan their movie-watching activity accordingly.
