The year 2024 delivered some memorable films which had a very positive word of mouth. Sadly, due to certain reasons, these films didn’t get their due in cinemas. However, a few of them are out on digital platforms and are doing very well. And some of these gems, which will come out soon on a streaming giant, are expected to work wonders. Bollywood Hungama, in this special feature, lists out five such films.

1. Sarfira
Akshay Kumar is seen in a brilliant role as the man who starts India’s first low-cost airline. Inspired by true events, Sarfira made for a great watch and it’s unfortunate that it flopped in cinemas. On Disney+ Hotstar, however, it enjoys considerable viewership.

2. Khel Khel Mein
This film of Akshay Kumar trended well at the box office. But it got massively affected as it was released alongside Stree 2, a monstrous blockbuster. It got its due on Netflix, where the film trended in many countries for several weeks. Akshay Kumar’s comic timing and the performances by Taapsee Pannu and Fardeen Khan were like icing on the cake.

3. Binny And Family
This small film with a big heart got a lot of love from the audiences and critics alike. It’s a rare film which focuses on the bond between a grandparent and grandchild. The first half is likeable while in the second half, the film goes on another level. Pankaj Kapur is terrific, as expected, but watch out for Anjini Dhawan; her debut performance is terrific. It’s a film whose OTT premiere is much awaited.

4. I Want To Talk
Abhishek Bachchan delivers one of the greatest performances of his career, at par with Guru and Yuva. Shoojit Sircar provided a niche treatment to this film, which restricted its reach in cinemas. It is expected to be out on Amazon Prime Video in a week, where it’s sure to get noticed and appreciated.

5. Vanvaas
This film, hailed as a modern-day Baghban, came all of a sudden and surprised the audience due to its message, emotional climax and Nana Patekar’s bravura performance. It suffered in cinemas due to poor awareness and bad release timing. But the word has spread that it’s a film to watch out for and hence, it’ll largely benefit on digital.
