Khushaal Pawaar, known for his funny, relatable and clean content on Instagram, took a significant step recently with his short film, Khushiyan Swati Ki Koshish Raju Ki. Co-starring Rispa Panda and Sameeksha Takke, it features Khushaal as lead actor, writer, music composer, lyricist, and singer! In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Khushaal Pawaar spoke about his short film and his stint as an actor and casting person in Bollywood films. He opened up in detail about working as a casting director in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-loved Animal (2023), starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.
Khushaal Pawar said, “I met Ranbir Kapoor on the sets of Animal. Sandeep sir did not know about my videos on Instagram at all. Ranbir told him, ‘Have you seen his video? No one does Mumbai-based characters better than him’. I was shocked to know that Ranbir Kapoor had seen my Reels. I was like, ‘India’s best actor is praising me. Yeh toh bahut acchi baat hai’! He’s not even on Instagram. And yet, if my videos have reached him, it speaks volumes.”
Bollywood Hungama earlier reported in detail about Khushaal Pawaar’s lovely experience of working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga in Kabir Singh (2019) and Animal. Is Khushaal a part of Vanga’s Spirit as well, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri?
Khushaal Pawar revealed, “No, I am not, as he’s working on that film from Hyderabad and not Mumbai since the first language of that film is Telugu. It goes without saying that if he needs my help, I am there.”
Khushaal Pawar continued, “I am in touch with sir on a regular basis. Of course, I can’t tell him that ‘if you have a role for me, please let me know’. That’s a bit awkward for me to say that. Also, I know that he doesn’t cast a person just because the person is his friend. So, I’ll just wait for that day when Sandeep sir feels that I could play some part and he’ll sign me for it. Thankfully, he does like my Reels. This shows that unke dimaag mein toh hoon main. Hence, hopefully, he’ll cast me (smiles).”
