The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Om Shanti Om (2007), which completed 15 years on November 9, was a fun-filled entertainer. Even today, viewers recall its funny scenes and it’s no wonder that these clips have amassed lakhs of views. One of the most loved scenes in the film is when Shah Rukh Khan fights a stuffed tiger. Om Shanti Om’s writer Mushtaq Shaikh has written a book, 'The Making Of Om Shanti Om', in which he has narrated an interesting behind-the-scenes trivia with regards to this sequence.

Mushtaq Shaikh reveals that Shah Rukh Khan had a blast shooting the scene. He would demand retakes as he felt that he could do the scene in a better or in a more over-the-top way. Director Farah Khan told him, “Bas ho gaya. Aur nahin chahiye, Shah Rukh. Yeh climax nahin hai!”. But Shah Rukh, Mushtaq reveals, pleaded like a baby and told Farah, “Ek aur, Farah. Iss baar main dive karke, somersault karke aur roll karke girunga”!

For the shot where Shah Rukh Khan fights the toy tiger, the dialogue “Naughty pussy” was improvised by Shah Rukh. Mushtaq Shaikh says that when SRK mouthed those lines, Farah Khan couldn’t control her laughter. And the same happened with the viewers when they saw the scene on the big screen.

On the set, Mushtaq asked Farah how she thought of adding such a crazy scene. To which she revealed it was thanks to ‘Ham Cassettes’. It was a collection of bad acting from various films that Farah and her brother Sajid Khan had curated over the years. One film in their database was a B-grade flick, Tarzan 303 (1970). Farah told Mushtaq that this film had a scene where Tarzan is shown fighting the wild animal. Since it was a stuffed tiger, the makers added growls in the background to make it seem a bit realistic.
