BAND BAAJA BAARAAT

Ranveer Singh burst onto the scene with his energetic debut role in this new-age romantic comedy. Playing Bittoo Sharma, a college boy who starts a wedding planning company and eventually falls in love with his business partner, Ranveer impressed the world with his charm, charisma and acting talent. His onscreen chemistry with Anushka Sharma was universally loved by fans, who kept rooting for Shruti and Bittoo. The film won Ranveer a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut - his first of many.

LOOTERA

A beautiful and poetic film, Lootera gave us a glimpse at the full range of Ranveer's acting capabilities. The actor anchored this moving love story set in the 1950s with his quiet, understated performance. We felt the pain and hurt in his eyes, as well as the love. His acting in the film's heartbreaking finale still makes us cry. Lootera was a true milestone for Indian cinema and featured one of the finest performances of its leading man.

GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA - RAM LEELA

Ranveer Singh was a revelation in this vibrant and cinematic adaptation of Romeo and Juliet directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Sporting a hot beard and a toned physique, the actor looked every bit the commercial Hindi film hero. The first film to feature the crackling pairing of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Ram-Leela set the screens on fire when it was first released. It's one of the most loved films of Ranveer Singh and also boasts some killer dance moves by the actor.

BAJIRAO MASTANI

Ranveer's second collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali was even more iconic. As the Maratha Peshwa Baji Rao I, Ranveer ruled the big screen with his commanding presence and impactful dialogue delivery. The actor soared in every scene from the battlefield to the gilded palace halls. It was a complex, challenging role and Ranveer aced every bit of it. The tragic romance between Baji Rao and Mastani was beautifully portrayed by Ranveer and Deepika. The film won Ranveer several accolades and was a critical and commercial success.

PADMAAVAT

Playing the ruthless Khilji in Padmaavat, Ranveer Singh set a new benchmark of acting in Indian cinema. The actor oozed villainy in every frame and yet we couldn't take our eyes off him. His kohl-eyed, long-haired Khilji was a pop-cultural phenomenon in every sense. The film floored audiences across the world who could not stop raving about Ranveer's gleefully evil performance. The actor won a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for the role amongst other honours.

GULLY BOY

It's impossible to imagine Zoya Akhtar's iconic hip-hop musical set in Dharavi without Ranveer Singh. From rapping in his voice to pouring all his heart and soul into the role of Murad, a young street rapper with dreams of making it big, Ranveer was the living embodiment of the spirit of Gully Boy. The actor surprised fans with his restrained and simmering performance as Murad, only to pour out like a volcano in the film's final rap battle.

On the work front, Ranveer Singh is next set to star in Rohit Shetty's Cirkus which is releasing on 23rd December.
