Zee Telefilms is planning to acquire one of the biggest and most successful banners of Bollywood the Rajshri Productions. What's interesting about the deal, which is valued at around Rs 50 crore, in that it would be cash-less. Barjatya family, proprietors of Rajshri Productions, will be issued shares of Zee Telefilms. With the deal, Zee will get access to Rajshri's library of over 70 films apart from a better understanding of its extensive distribution network, for which Rajshri is very well known. The deal will be finalized on Tuesday at a meeting called by Zee CEO, Subhash Chandra after which an official announcement would be made.
