Yaadein – A musical launch:

With the countdown for the music release of Subhash Ghai's YAADEIN coming to an end on 30th May, the Tips bosses are putting together their final act of marketing the music in a really big way. According to Kumar Taurani, Tips has decided to flood the market with approximately 1 million cassettes at one go. To facilitate the music launch, it has also tied up with a record number of dealers all over India. "It is definitely not an unusual number considering the exemplary quality of YAADEIN music. We had introduced the music of TAAL with an equal number of cassettes in the market and they were sold out in the first fortnight, after which we had introduced an additional half a million cassettes," Taurani says. In fact, the Tauranis are expecting an even better response for the music of YAADEIN. "The music of TAAL was extra-ordinary no doubt, so were the sales, but the music of YAADEIN is mind-blowing and we are expecting it to be a total sellout in the first week itself. The anticipation is also so high that dealers have been contacting us from all over India to book the cassettes of the film well in advance. In fact, we have kept an additional 1m cassettes ready to cope up with the increasing demand," Taurani adds. This is the sixth film from Subhash Ghai's banner Tips is associated with. The association started with KHAL-NAYAK, followed by TRIMURTI, PARDES, TAAL, RAHUL and now YAADEIN. Interestingly, the music of two out of the six films, TRIMURTI and RAHUL, did not work quite well for Tips and, coincidentally, both were directed by outside directors. YAADEIN has ten tracks in all, out of which eight are songs and two are musical pieces from the film.
