After making hard-hitting films like CHANDNI BAR and SATTA, Madhur Bhandarkar is ready with PAGE 3. A critique on the Page 3 culture and a statement on the glamour world, this Konkona Sen Sharma starrer is amongst the keenly awaited releases of 2005.
While PAGE 3 hits the screens on January 21, Madhur is planning his next venture, titled EXTRAA. Let me clarify at the very outset, it has nothing to do with Bollywood, Madhur informs me. So, what is EXTRAA all about? It is written from the point of view of a mistress, the other woman. It's a film based on relationships, he adds quickly.
Although the film-maker hasn't finalized the star cast of the film, there's speculation that he's considering casting either Kareena Kapoor [she was the first choice for PAGE 3], Rani Mukerji or Tabu for the role in question. True? I am not telling now [smiles] I've decided to take a one-month break after PAGE 3 releases. Only after I return will I finalize the casting, he states.
