Another rumour doing the rounds is that of Karisma Kapoor stepping in Madhuri Dixit's shoes in the UTV-backed project, directed by Somnath Sen. It may be recalled that Madhuri had opted out of the film owing to her pregnancy [the actress is expecting her second child].
Ram Mirchandani of UTV doesn't deny that Karisma Kapoor's name cropped up during discussions. In fact, a lot many actresses are eager to step in the project, but no one has been confirmed yet. No, not Karisma either, he states.
What Ram does reveal is that the project has been pushed forward by a couple of months. Also, Big B, Soha Ali Khan and Boman Irani will continue to be a part of the project.
A source also adds that Preity Zinta has been approached for the role. That's not true, producer Kavita Munjal clarifies, At no point did we hold discussions with Preity. Nor did her name crop up during the recent meetings.
What about Tabu? Yes, we have spoken to her about the film, but a decision is yet to be taken. She's an amazing actress and we'd love to have her in the film. But a decision will be arrived upon once she returns from the U.S., Kavita divulges.
