Ever since it was announced that Ekta Kapoor is producing 'Nach Baliye 7' on Star Plus channel, and that the judges of the earlier season, director Sajid Khan, choreographer Terrence Lewis and actress-producer-model Shilpa Shetty won't be repeated this time, there's been a buzz as to who will be replacing them. We have come to know that not one but two actresses are in running for coming on board as celeb judges. While Priyanka Chopra's name has been already reported, we have got to know that Sonakshi Sinha has also been approached for celeb judge.
Says a source, "Everyday, there's some news or the other as to who will be the celebrity couples. But few know who is in the running for the celebrity judges who will be a part of Ekta Kapoor's 'Nach Baliye 7'. She is currently producing the dance reality show and once she took over, the format of the show changed completely. This time, the participating jodis will not only dance on stage but also get locked up, like 'Bigg Boss' house inmates, for over two months under camera surveillance. So, the viewers will be able to indulge in voyeurism. Not just Shilpa, but all the judges too from last time have changed. It's a purely business decision as the concept is now also more to do with dance. The channel and Ekta's production house, Balaji Telefilms, are in talks with directors Anurag Basu and Vikas Bahl, choreographer Marzi Pestonji, along with actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Priyanka Chopra for the celeb judges."
The source adds that it's a hot battle and between Sonakshi and Priyanka. "Pee Cee is currently shooting for the ABC drama pilot episode of 'Quantico' in USA, after which, she will return to India. 'Nach Baliye 7' airs from April, so the channel and the production house has to finalize between Sonakshi and Priyanka within the next couple of weeks. Sonakshi is being tight-lipped when quizzed about her coming on the show as she's still yet to decide. Both actresses have been offered a huge amount of money to come as celebrity judge. Ekta is very fond of both the actresses as they have worked in her films but she and the channel will need to take a call soon."
