VJ turned actress Sophiya Haque who shot to fame with her stint as a VJ on a popular music channel back in the 90's. Post the success of her VJ stint, she took to acting by making her debut as the leading lady in a low budget comedy film Snip. However, Sophiya who had been diagnosed with cancer years back, breathed her last in her sleep, in London.
In response to her sad demise Bollywood celebs took to twitter with Pooja Bhatt posting, "Tragic news about Sophiya Haque. One of the most gorgeous women to have walked this planet... Shine on where-ever it is you now are luv..." Even director Ken Ghosh expressed his shock, "Just heard sad news of the passing away of the live wire ex vj of channel v, sophia haque."
