Vivek Oberoi is turning romantic again. He has recently signed an out and out love story where he would be playing the lead protagonist. The film is special for him since it would be almost a decade after Saathiya (2002) that he would be seen serenading his lady love.
"It is a beautiful and meaningful love story that Vivek has just signed", informs a close associate of the actor, "After an intense Rakht Charitra and action oriented Prince, he wanted to dabble in different genres. This film is a step in that direction. It will be going on floors later this year. Vivek is waiting for a formal announcement from the makers before he starts talking about it."
Incidentally, Vivek has hardly done any love stories in his entire career. Starting off with dramatic outings like Company and Dum, he did see huge success coming his way in Saathiya. At that time he was considered to be one of the most versatile actors around and while one expected him to do more love stories, he delved deeper into action dramas.
"Vivek was just not getting the right films", continues the associate, "When a film like Kyun! Ho Gaya Na with some elements of romance didn't work, he moved on films like Yuva, Kaal, Omkara and Shootout At Lonkhandwala that kept his Bollywood flag flying high. However, his heart continued to pine for a romantic musical and when he was narrated the story of this new film, he immediately agreed."
Expectedly, Vivek expressed his inability to disclose many details since he was contractually bound. However, he admitted that this new film boasts of a 'sweet and gentle' love story.
"This is one film that connects at a human level", says a much married Vivek Oberoi who is happy to be find stability coming his way both at personal as well as professional front, "This love story would take me into a completely different world when compared to action dramas like Krrish 2 and Zila Ghaziabad. This is a great script that I have got my hands on and I am really excited about it. Ever since Saathiya I was dying to do a love story. Now I can stand up and say that the decade long wait was worth it after all."
