Some time back, there was talk that Vipul Shah, director of AANKHEN, was all geared up to start a film for producer Vashu Bhagnani. However, there has been an alteration now, with Vipul deciding to produce the film himself. Things didn't materialise between Vashu-ji and me, Vipul divulges, But we parted on a good note. No hard feelings.
Vipul had already procured the dates of his principal cast Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal from April onwards, which is why he couldn't wait. If the market conditions are so bad and if one has to take a risk, why should the producer suffer alone? That's when I decided that I'd take the plunge and produce the film myself, he adds.
