Vinod Chopra on the move

Vikram Bhatt is busy as a bee these days. Besides signing a number of new films, Bhatt is currently busy with AITBAAR [Big B Bipasha John Abraham] and the late Bunty Soorma‘s dream project HUMKO TUMSE PYAAR HAI, starring Bobby Deol, Amisha Patel and Arjun Rampal.

But what happens to producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala’s project, titled KUTUMB, starring Big B in the lead? If grapevine is to be believed, Bachchan had had a misunderstanding with the producer [Firoz] and had opted out of his new film AAN MEN AT WORK [Shatrughan Sinha eventually filled the void left by Bachchan’s exit].

But, according to sources, the misunderstandings have been sorted out and KUTUMB is all set to roll, with Big B heading the cast and Vikram Bhatt at the helm of affairs. Let me clarify, Vikram Bhatt informs, Firoz had signed me for two films AWARA PAAGAL DEEWANA and one more film at the very outset. But there’s been no talk with Firoz on a fresh project, not even KUTUMB. Nor has there been a discussion with Amit-ji for a film to be produced by Firoz. That should set the rumours to rest.

Incidentally, Vikram is looking forward to the release of FOOTPATH [Aftab Shivdasani, Bipasha Basu, Rahul Dev] in April. We’ve tentatively fixed the date, but it all depends on THE HERO. We don’t want to clash with that film. It’s a big film by all standards, so obviously all eyes will be on it. But if THE HERO hits the theatres on April 11, we’ll place FOOTPATH on April 25, after a two-week gap, he asserts.
