Vande Mataram shelved

The film company Foursome Productions Entertainment comprising of four biggies Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Ajay Devgan, and producer Nitin Manmohan have put on hold their maiden production Vande Mataram. The film based on the patriotic theme of 1971 Indo-Bangladesh war and the Mukti Vahini will not go any further. Incidentally the same quartet is involved in a project based on the similar theme of war. The film is Nitin Manmohan’s Tango Charlie which stars Ajay Devgan (apart from Bobby Deol and Tanisha) with Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty in special appearances, to be directed by Mani Shankar (Rudraksh, 16 December). Whether the reason is not to repeat the ‘Tango Charlie’ subject or the debacle of war-film LOC or the improving relations between India and Pakistan, one thing is for sure Vande Mataram has been shelved.
