The conflict between Balaji and workers Union

A press conference was conducted for the clarification on the true occurrences in the conflict between the Allied Mazdoor Union Committee members & the workers on the Balaji set by The Film & TV Producers Bodies IMPAA and WIFPA & FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) to condemn the flash strike conducted by some members of the Allied Mazdoor Union (FSS & AMU) and for the true representation of the facts pertaining to the conflict between the Allied Mazdoor Agents & the workers at the Balaji set.

Apparently, six representatives from FSS & AMU visited the Balaji set at Klick Nixon in Powai and ordered to stop the shoot thereby causing many disruptions. However, when one of the production members questioned their action, it resulted in a physical fight after he was beaten up by the representatives. These representatives later filed a complaint at Powai police alleging that the Balaji crew member initiated the fight. The General Secretary of FWICE Dilip Pithwa, who immediately reached the spot, visited the spot and verified the facts only after speaking to all the parties.

Also, the current executive committee of the FSS & AMU led by Gangeshwarlal Shrivastava has been accused of disrupting shoots and even abusing Producers and workers on the film sets before. Also, the head along with its representatives have been alleged of extorting fine from producers under different pretexts.

The said person has even been suspended from the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), the mother body of the 22 crafts of the film industry, for 15 years & non-co-operation has been declared against the entire executive committee of the FSS & AMU, for their continuous extortionist, disruptive & violent behaviour on the sets of the Film & TV productions.
