The Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi President, Ahmed Shah, confirmed Hussain's passing. Shah, highlighting Hussain's immense talent, said, “An acclaimed actor like Talat Hussain is born after centuries.”

Born in Delhi, Hussain's powerful baritone voice and unique acting style captivated audiences. His talent was recognized with prestigious awards, including the Pride of Performance award in 1982, Pakistan's highest national literary honor, and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz, the country's third-highest civilian award, bestowed upon him in 2021.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, provincial chief ministers, and other prominent figures paid their respects. Prime Minister Sharif, in a statement, acknowledged Hussain's immense contribution, saying, “His services to the Pakistani television, theatre, film and radio will always be remembered. The vacuum left by his death can never be fulfilled.”

Moviegoers cherished his work in films like Chiragh Jalta Raha, Gumnaam, and Actor in Law. Notably, he also appeared in the Indian film Sauten Ki Beti.

Hussain's artistic journey began in 1960 on the state-owned PTV channel. Interestingly, his dedication to his craft extended beyond Pakistan's borders. He honed his skills at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and even worked for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London for a period.

Hussain's talent transcended national boundaries. In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Amanda Award, also known as the Scandinavian Oscar, for his role in the Norwegian film Import-Eksport. He was also recognized in Pakistan, receiving the Nigar Award in 1986 for Best Supporting Actor in the film Miss Bangkok.
