Generally, Aamir Khan starrers are not known to court controversies, but TALAASH has proved an exception. The film is making news for the wrong reasons, courtesy a section of the media. While the release date of the film has been a topic of discussion within the film industry, the recent news of a spat between Aamir and director Reema Kagti seems to have provided fodder to gossip mills.
But producer Ritesh Sidhwani is least amused. "How can there be a spat between Aamir and Reema when we have already locked the edit? In fact, we have also commenced recording the background score of the film two days back, which wouldn't be possible if Aamir and Reema were embroiled in a fight over the final content of the film," Ritesh clarifies, "As a matter of fact, we are in the process of launching the second trailer of the film."
Not just the media, even the film industry is agog with the speculation that TALAASH won't make it on 30 November. It seems, Aamir is commencing shooting for DHOOM 3 and will have no time to promote TALAASH. Hence, the release date is being shifted to 2013, according to well-placed sources in the industry. "Let me begin by confirming the release date of the film. It's 30 November. That's final. There's no postponement at all. As for Aamir shooting non-stop for DHOOM 3, yes, he is. But he's back in India in the last week of October, so we will have an entire month to promote our film. Isn't one month of solid promotion enough for an Aamir Khan starrer?" Ritesh poses a counter-question to the gossip mongers.
On a parting note, Ritesh adds that Aamir is damn happy with the way TALAASH has shaped up and is looking forward to its release. This should silence the naysayers!
