After winning immense acclaim in HAASIL, Tigmanshu Dhulia, who has been associated with projects like BANDIT QUEEN and DIL SE, is all set to start his new film, titled DHARTI. ''It's a novel subject in the sense that it looks at the issue of illegal immigration by people of Indian origin in Eastern Europe," Tigmanshu tells me. Shedding light on the content of the film, the talented writer-director continues, "It's not a grim film. It's a realistic film, but the treatment would be akin to OCEAN'S 11." What actually prompted him to start a film on this subject? "I had read about the issue in newspapers, and it stayed with me. Something like this has never been attempted on Indian screen before, so that was another factor that prompted me to opt for this story," he divulges. So far, Tigmanshu has signed Suniel Shetty for one of the lead roles, while talks are on with two more heroes and two heroines for the project. To be produced by Mahendra Dhariwal [MAA TUJHE SALAAM], the film will be shot in Mumbai and parts of Europe.
