Subhash Ghai is upset this time with the media for spreading malicious stories on his latest film YAADEIN. In a dramatic development, Surinder Kapoor (father of Boney, Anil and Sanjay Kapoor), who is the President of The Film Producers Guild Of India, has written a strong-worded letter to all journalists, which is reproduced below. We are addressing you this communication to express our serious concern about the reviews published in some journals/dailies and also about certain comments made in the electronic media regarding the film YAADEIN and its producer/director. We are very much conscious about the freedom of expression guaranteed under the Indian Constitution but at the same time we feel that such freedom should not be misused solely to tarnish the image of a creative person. The reviews and comments smack of certain personal vendetta, which at any cost should be stopped. The media have always stood by the film industry in the days of crisis and we are quite confident they would continue to extend such support refraining from publishing anything, which may block the development of the Indian film industry.
