Putting an end to all speculation about their off-screen hatred for each other, Shah Rukh Khan [with wife Gauri] and Hrithik Roshan [with wife Suzanne] celebrated the arrival of the New Year together at Ko Samui, an exotic island in Thailand. Participating in the revelry were the friends of the two stars, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra [with wife] and Uday Chopra. The group of friends returned to Mumbai on Saturday, January 3, 2004. When this writer bumped into Karan at Bangkok Airport, the talented director looked amused at a section of the press going overboard, speculating about his next film. My New Year resolution is to start scripting of my new film, Karan tells me, I've thought of an idea and I just need to sit down and start working on it. But the question of casting anyone at this juncture just doesn't arise. There've been reports that the director of K2H2 and K3G is toying with the idea of casting Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan in his next film. Oh, so many rumours have been flying left, right and centre. Someone even called to enquire whether I had cast SRK and Hrithik again. Then there's talk that SRK and Ajay have been confirmed. But, please, don't believe these rumours, Karan almost pleads. So, what's to be believed? I swear, the idea of my next film has just been 'born' and I need to 'nourish' it for at least three months before I can start thinking of the casting. I hope to take off to London to script the film, I am more relaxed there [Karan's K2H2, K3G and K.H.N.H. were scripted there as well!]. Karan also makes a point to clarify about the commercial he has committed to direct for Pepsi. There've been talks with the Pepsi people, but nothing is on paper yet. I don't even know whom I am supposed to direct. Once in Mumbai, we'll sit across the table and work out the modalities, he states. However, this is the second time the soft drink giant has approached Karan to direct a commercial. I distinctly remember, I was so nervous the first time around, he smiles, But when they approached me again recently, I decided to give it a try. I have committed to direct a commercial, but like I said, we haven't put anything on paper yet. From what I've been given to understand, the commercial is likely to star SRK.
