Sridevi's return as MALINI IYER on Sahara TV has been much talked about. For one, you just can't ignore a Sridevi even after seven years. Also, the status of the small screen seems to have got a major boost with her presence. Goes to show that a true artiste can never be judged by the format of the screen he or she chooses to perform. How does it matter to my fans whether I perform on the big screen or small screen? I chose to do MALINI IYER because I felt it was tailor-made for me. But that does not mean that I'll be doing more serials or films from now on. I am a satisfied person and enjoy being with my family, she says. Satish Kaushik, the director of the series, is simple thrilled. It's a privilege working with an actress of her calibre, says Kaushik. Sridevi as Malini breaks out into a lot of Tamil expressions, adding that extra zing to the scene. The Tamil dialogues are Sridevi's touches and not part of the dialogues.
