There couldn't have been a more opportune moment for Aanand L. Rai's next production Nil Battey Sannata to be unveiled. Since the film deals with a charming story of a mother and her daughter, the makers felt that today being Women's Day would be just right to bring on the First Look of the film.
Starring Swara Bhaskar as the central protagonist (she has featured in Aanand's Tanu Weds Manu as well as its sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns), the film features Ria as the daughter. Set in Agra, the film marks the directorial debut of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. Wife of Nitesh Tiwari (Chillar Party, Bhoothnath Returns, Dangal), Ashwini is an advertising professional and has made her first feature film in the form of Nil Battey Sannata.
In fact, Sonam Kapoor, who is a good friend of Swara and has also acted in Aanand's Raanjhanaa, took to social media last night and introduced the First Look of the film with her 8.5 million strong followers. Terming the film as the one about 'girl power', she hailed Swara for playing Chanda quite effectively in the film.
Nil Battey Sannata has already made waves in international film festivals like 'Silk Road Film Festival' in China and the London Film Festival. Arriving on 22nd April, the film is now set for an extensive promotional campaign. Aanand has made the film in collaboration with Eros after delivering a hit (Raanjhanaa) and a blockbuster (Tanu Weds Manu Returns).
