Soha Upbeat

DIL MAANGE MORE is an important film for Sharmila Tagore’s daughter Soha Ali Khan, who makes her debut with this film. I confirmed the project after I heard the story narration, the pretty lass informs me, I could identify with the story, I felt I had scope to prove my acting prowess. With the film starring three leading ladies [Soha, Ayesha Takia, Raima Sen], wouldn’t the screen time get divided? Is it an ideal launch? Under normal circumstances, it would’ve got divided, but the length and quality of my role propelled me to accept the assignment. To be honest, I wouldn’t have accepted the role if it was inconsequential, she says. Soha admits that the comparisons with her mother, sister-in-law and brother would be inevitable the day her maiden film hits the marquee. They’ve accomplished so much in their respective careers, I really wish I could be as versatile. Especially my mother, who got to work with some of the best names like Satyajit Ray, Shakti Samanta and Gulzar. Soha just can’t stop singing praises of her brother’s performances as well. He has evolved as an actor. From PARAMPARA [Saif’s debut film] to EK HASINA THI, he’s really come a long way. He’s a complete natural, he doesn’t imitate anyone, he’s got his own individualistic style, she beams proudly. Meanwhile, Soha has bagged yet another prestigious assignment a Bengali film that is based on Saratchandra Chattopadhyay’s novel SRIKANTA.
