Soha Ali Khan receives flak from netizens for attending Ganpati pandal, the actress reacts

As celebrities become more active on social media, bullying has become one of the major hazards. Trollers are on a lookout to pick on celebrities constantly and becoming a victim of it once again is actress Soha Ali Khan, who got trolled by netizens for visiting a Ganpati Pandal in suburban Mumbai recently.

While the season of festivities has kick started, Soha Ali Khan, who is born to cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, took to Twitter to talk about her Ganpati celebrations. She posted a picture of her visiting a Ganpati Pandal in Andheri where she is seen seeking the blessings of the Lord. What followed was a series of trolls where twitteratis accused her of being disloyal to her religion. Prior to this, she also received a similar reaction when she shared about her visit to the Golden Temple, Amritsar.

Reacting on the same, Soha Ali Khan replied to the trolls firmly about religion being a matter of personal choice. She added that visiting a temple or a church doesn't make her non-Muslim and that everyone should respect each other's choices when it comes to visiting shrines. She also asserted that she is not a commodity that can be owned by a community and that no one should be bothered about the choices that she makes. Considering that both her parents belong to different communities, reminiscing about her childhood days, Soha also mentioned that she has had fond memories of not just Eid but also of Durga Pooja (her mother is a Bengali) and even Diwali. She also asked fans and netizens to advocate love amongst religions and not hate. As far as trolls are concerned, the actress shunned it saying that she doesn't care about them as far as there is neither physical harm nor invasion of her privacy.
