While Siddharth Roy Kapur, the head honcho of UTV-Disney India, been rumoured to be stepping down, now we hear that the producer has been offered a new responsibility. Siddharth has apparently been elected as the new president of The Film and Television Producers Guild of India.
Though an official announcement is being awaited, we hear that the entire team will undergo change from January 1 next year and that the producer will take over the role of a President from Mukesh Bhatt. It has been learnt that the veterans are making way for the younger generation to take up their respective roles in the guild. On the other hand, the decision of making Siddharth Roy Kapur as the president is said to be an unanimous decision of the other members.
It is being said that Siddharth has actively been participating and spreading awareness about the industry issues ever since he has been the vice-president of the guild and has often represented the industry in various issues at many forums.
