A forthcoming release of actor turned filmmaker Shreyas Talpade has now been trapped in a legal controversy owing to its publicity gimmick. The film Wah Taj whose release has already been delayed for a year, is currently facing criminal charges from the Agra tourism for misleading tourists.

Shreyas Talpade and the team of Wah Taj receive legal notice for misleading tourists

As a promotional campaign, the makers of the film Wah Taj distributed posters across the city of Agra, claiming that the iconic Taj Mahal will be shut down for tourists since September 23, 2016 (which is the release date of the film) followed by the verdict in the Tukaram case. This created confusion amongst tourists and left the Tourism Guild in shock. However, Vice President of the guild, Mahatim Singh soon decided to investigate the matter and it was revealed that the posters were a mere publicity gimmick for the film Wah Taj. But this promotional campaign left them miffed and Singh further added that these campaigns are a silly way of gaining attention and that it could have caused severe losses to the Indian tourism. He also maintained that he will be taking legal action against them. On the other hand, a police complaint has been filed against the actors as well as the makers of Wah Taj by Bharatiya Muslim Vikas Parishad president Sami Aghai for spreading misinformation and damaging the reputation of Taj Mahal. Advocate Madan Mohan Sharma sent a legal notice against producer Pawan Sharma, Abhinav Verma, director Ajit Sinha, actor Shreyas Talpade and Manjari Fadnis for creating havoc in Agra and spoiling the image of the country. The case has been registered on August 7 at Hariparvat police station.

Responding to the same was actor Shreyas Talpade who said, "I got to know that there has been a legal notice sent to the makers of the film Wah Taj, but it was just a part of the movie promotions and marketing strategy. I don't understand why it is taken to another level by blowing it up."
